Stats table contains a daily tally of #users, #threads, and #posts.
I want to add another column #daily users

I know how/where that number is generated. I haven't found where the mybb_stats table is populated.

I can do it, just need to know where.

AdminCP / Tools and Maintenance / Statistics. Once there, graphical data as well as list.
All I want to do is get it into the table for historical purposes.

You could take a look at file ROOT/admin/modules/tools/statistics.php - maybe you'll find a solution.
