Full Version: RELEASE: Email Encryption (In Posts) Plugin
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
As was suggested on the MyBB Ideas site.

Description:
This plugin encrypts email addresses found in posts using JavaScript so that spambots can't harvest them.

Version History:
  • 1.0 - Initial Release.
  • 1.1 - Fixes an issue with email addresses longer than a certain length not appearing.

Known Issues:
  • After editing a post using quick edit. Emails addresses within [emailenc] tags will vanish and other email addresses will appear non-encrypted. Refreshing the page will fix this, other users will always see the message correctly.
  • It is recommended that you place email addresses within [email] tags when you post them. Although the plugin can detect most valid email addresses within a post, it is not 100% accurate and using [email] tags ensures the email address gets encrypted.

Full readme provided in the .zip file. Please read before installing the plugin.

It is yes.
UPDATE
This plugin has been updated to version 1.1 to fix an issue with email addresses longer than a certain length not appearing. It is recommended that all users update to this release as soon as possible by using the instructions in the readme provided.

The original post has been updated to reflect these changes.

Thanks to michaelh for finding the bug and giving me something to do for 2 and a half hours Toungue
UPDATE
This plugin has been discontinued. It is known to have some issues with PHP5 and apparently some issues with newer versions of the 1.2.x branch of MyBB.

If anyone wants to pick it up and fix it, feel free; I will leave the download in the first post but have removed it from the mods site. In all honesty, if you do want to fix it, starting from scratch might be a better option.
