After upgrading to MyBB 1.8.10, I noticed the main forums aren't updating the last post information quick enough, yet Advanced Sidebox is. For example, if two people posted in a thread, only the first person's name will be shown in the main forums area on the index page.
So far, my only solution is to use Recount & Rebuild -> Rebuild Forum Counters. That does the trick for the time being, but how can I reverse this glitch?
Do you have the task image in the footer? Link to your forum so I can check?
Sent PM. I even tried updating post.php as recommended, but nothing has made a difference.
In fact, those changes have also worsened things by not making my test posts show up at all since the changes.

Is your task_image template blank? It should have this in it

It's on the template from my end, but not on the actual site. I also had a problem with "Mark All Posts As Read" disappearing from where Log Out and Show Team are, etc.
Also, I would like to kindly ask to remove the URL.
Have you tried running the "Find Updated Templates" tool from ACP > Templates & Style > Templates? This will help you find any templates that need updated. The upgrade script does warn you that you should run this tool after upgrading.

Yes, but to no success. I didn't really do a whole lot of editing. I noticed the Last Post value only updates to the second last member after another reply was posted in the thread.
