Full Version: force images to switch to ssl
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
Hello comunity,
Our forum has been converted to SSL for a few days now. There are thousands of threads in which images were posted on an external image hoster. The image hoster is unfortunately http - It happens, of course, that the respective page is reported as "not completely secure" (images are not secured).

It is impossible to edit all images and to load them individually to an external imagehoster or to the server, which would be too much work ...

My question therefore is:
How can I control that all images are forced to switch to SSL?
I found the plugin SSL Switcher, but I am not sure if it is what I need ...

Can you help me?

Thanks in advance,
blongso
DVZ Secure content plugin Smile
re,
yes ok Eldenroot,
I have installed the plugin and find that the http pictures are not directly to be seen, but only the link, which one can click and the picture externally shows.

Is that right?

Likewise, I noticed that in the Admin CP, the Settings for DVZ Secure Content have 11 Parameter.

When I click on the settings, I have only:

It is OK, if you wanna show images (linked with http:// non secure connection) you have to use image proxy - you can find more about this in the plugin's thread: https://community.mybb.com/thread-168820.html
re,
I do not understand the part with the proxy Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

Can you explain this to me please?

Additional settings are shown when Image proxy is set to On.

The HTTPS guide may prove of help: https://docs.mybb.com/1.8/administration...ed-content
re Devilshakerz,
That was not clear to me that I must switch to ON, thank you!!!

I have taken over everything as in the example

but ...

The images are not shown in the thread or the link is no longer clickable ???

Something I do wrong, because I did not understand it correctly ... but what? ... Please excuse me Angel
As @Devilshakerz wrote above - you have three possibilities:
1) use own hosted image proxy
2) use public image proxy (I use the free image proxy mentioned by @Devilshakerz, works fine!)
3) leave http images shown/show only urls
