Is it possible to make it so plugin sends Private Message to tagged member ?

Like someone uses @username
"username" gets Private Message something like "You have been tagged in this thread LINK"

And no, i don't want popup like MyAlerts has one, just a Private Message to user that has been tagged.

Any help ?

I am using MentionMe 3.1 plugin

PM and email for the tag might badly affect server resources. I feel its better to use popup type alerts

^ unless required care is taken,
PMs are stored in the database and sending a PM triggers sending mail notification.
both can affect server resources !
