How can I hide banned members in the members list for at least non-admin users?

I know this has been asked before, but the only thing I can find is from years ago, and it seems it may not work.  What I found was:

It's OK if banned members show up for admins, just not for others.

Edit your banned usergroup and make sure the option “Yes, show users of this group on the member list” is disabled.

Doh!  Thanks!  That was simple.  Somehow I missed that setting.  I looked.  Really I did.
