i heard its a terrible idea to allow html in posts. but what about mycode? my site is a video sharing site and will be using the auto embed for youtube (not a plugin but the core feature)

if i disable mycode will it affect that?

^ yes, disabling MyCode would affect videos embedding. there is no need to disable use of MyCode.
