The 1811 upgrade has added an extra step to the upgrade process: Once I click on "upgrade" it asks for an Admin Username and password.

It won't accept my username and password for my forum account and so I can not complete the upgrade.

I can't see any documentation regarding this in the change-docs and no one else seems to have had this problem on the forums.

Any advice please?

administrator login is required for running upgrade process.
does your user name consists of any special character ?

This is the first time it's ever asked me for that stage!

And no, nothing special about the username "bifford"

what error message did you get while trying to upgrade ?

can you change your password through SQL and try upgrading process by login with new password ..

(clicking there doesn't work of course because the forum doesn't have the lock file; if it has the lock file it doesn't work because the forum isn't upgraded.

I've reset the password in phpmyadmin but still no luck!

Thank you for all your help, it turned out the upgrade.php file had the wrong permissions set. I updated that to 466 and it then worked. Thanks again
