My site has been down all day because of this error "SQL Error:2054"

"2054 - The server requested authentication method unknown to the client"

"MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue."

anyone have a fix? much appreciated in advance

sorry about that dragonexpert, new guy here, thanks for setting me straight

I think you'll need to contact your host. The MySQL server is requesting an unknown authentication method for some reason.
