Sorry if covered somewhere else but could not see anything.

I have people that write a few quality posts on my forum and I could easily encourage others to do the same.

But I'd like those articles to be visible to search engines that highlight articles in this sports arena as it would potentially draw people to my forums and ideally generate new membership.

Will 2.0 have a Blogging section that could be made visible or do I need to create another website to hold this material and promote the forum as a next step.

Blogging won't be core in 2.0, but should be a fairly easy plugin to create.

From what I heard, 2.0 is not around anytime soon. Better try other options available with 1.8 or use WordPress.
