Hi guys!

If I modify a Template file (example: contact.php) and later update MyBB I lose the modifications made?

if you modify MyBB source file (eg. contact.php) then you have to take its backup before upgrading MyBB version.
most probably modified files will be replaced by new version files and required changes should be done again.
