Hi!
I want to upgrade mybb 1.2 to 1.8.

I tried to upgrade step by step 1.2 -> 1.4 -> 1.6 -> 1.8, but at upgrade process 1.2 -> 1.8 I received errors :

- Function set_magic_quotes_runtime() is deprecated 
- You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'TYPE=MyISAM' at line 17

Can you help me with suggestion?

is that the complete error message without the file name ?
have you disabled all the plugins before upgrading ?

I tried now with host which have php 4.
Now Performing necessary upgrade queries stuck

please see MyBB 1.8.x minimum requirements

though php 5.2 should work, its better to have php at least 5.4

I selected php 4 for upgrade to 1.4 then, I will select php >= 5.4 for upgrade to 1.6 then to 1.8

Can I make upgrade from 1.2 directly to 1.8?
