Getting a PHP error while trying to install MyBB 1.8.12. No previous version of MyBB has been installed before this.

I have made sure the permissions are set as per the MyBB Documentation, and have tried reinstalling multiple times.

I believe this is a problem with my server, but if anyone here can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

I would bet it's requiring a file in the wrong place. Is ".../public_html/forums/..." the correct location of that config.php file?

Please ensure that you have also uploaded ALL files to the directory.
And check that the directory is indeed correct as Fizz stated.
