I installed mybb forum in the folder under mu main domain name
http://deviceteck.com and the mybb page is
http://forum.deviceteck.com. I did the installation over 2 months ago and even now, google does not pick up my keywords. Is there a way I can do this. I really need to rank this forum on google search. Please help.

Your google rank can take years to lift itself. Some of your forums dont even have any threads. To get a good google rank you need lots of content and activity. 130~ threads is nothing in the eyes of google.

He has over 700 URLs indexed and ranking already.

Ranking on top is always tough but your site is in google as Ashley1 pointed.
Keep posting good quality content and do basic seo with link building, you will surely get good results
