Okay, so I followed the installation documents and when i try to go navigate to /install i get the error shown in the screenshot below.

looks like php files are not executing. please contact your web host for fixing it

Have you tried restarting Apache/HTTP server?

try and enable ... php short tags

If you are using your own VPS instead of some short of shared hosting you are required to install php libraries in order to run MyBB or if you are using shared hosting like cPanel+WHM try to switch php versions to php70 from php manager option available on your cPanel. Hello, thank you for the replies, I'm running this on a VPS and i have PHP 7 installed. I have also restarted the apache server.
