I am new to MyBB. I did a Google and Plugin search but could not find any mention of users being able to upload files for a community forum repository.
Does this capability exist for MyBB?
Yes, users can add attachments to posts. However, if you want to have some kind of attachment or media/download gallery, that will require a plugin.

Thank you for the quick response. Is there a plugin that you can recommend. All I require is a repository that hopefully has some type of modest file description.
It does not matter if it is a picture or zip file, no thumbnail required, just a description that is community accessible. Similar to Yahoo groups. For example, a directory listing with file description.

Thanks for the suggestion. But, reading their page this looks more like a shopping cart DOWNLOAD not user UPLOAD. I am looking for something that allows registered users to UPLOAD files.
Sorry, I'm not aware of anything like that I'm afraid.
