Hello,

I'm currently using VB and Xenforo for two of my forums. I used MyBB for more than 2 years and I can say that this is the best forum software which is free and have lots of features. Currently I'm fedup from Vbulletin because of the amount of spam.

I want to know how effective is MyBB's spam control? I know before it was not that good, we had to use some plugins/mods for spam control but what is the situation now? Suggestions and replies from people having big MyBB forums will be really appreciated.

We have quite a lot of different options in the core for spam control now. How well they work can depend on how well you configure them in some cases (such as the registration security questions - simple questions like "what is 2 + 2" can be solved by bots now - choosing something less common and that is unique to your niche can really help).
