I am trying the parent thing but it just mess ups .

I am using tabbed menu so i am going to show an example :

Themes     |   Plug Ins
forum1           forum4
forum2           forum5
forum3

How do i move forum 2 from Themes to Plug Ins ?

Check if the "tabbed menu" is caching data, storing in the DB (or both)  // Perhaps disable and "start over" // ++ >> "Move Forum from one category to another?", is "drop-dead" simple, so your "tabbed menu" needs to be shown how to cooperate.
