I do not think there is any forum editor available that can match the Discourse editor.

Anyway, we can get that editor for Mybb?
I believe you will need to code that editor, not sure if it is open source or available.
But you can try TinyMCE which is a great editor, refer the below url to see it in action

Hahahaha! Oh you!

Is tinyMCE available for MyBB?

What I actually want is a editor that if users paste content from other sites it won't keep the formatting.
Right now my editor brings in the style of the other site and that messes with the look and feel of the site as well as Tapatalk.

You can install TinyMCE for MyBB as well, lots of people have done that here.
Discourse's editor is wholly custom. It's open source (GPLv2), but if I recall, it's built on Ember.

Can you send me a link, or is that a custom job?

My biggest issue I have currently is users may copy some content from elsewhere and when they paste it our current editor will inherit that font and styling, fcking up the whole look of the forum as well as affecting taptalk.

Does anyone else have that same issue?

There is a very old tutorial, you can give it a try

Make sure you use all updated version and you might have to modify some code Smile

Cheers
Could not get this to work, would really like if mybb spend some time to invest in a good editor.

Xenforo , discourse, phpBB and even VB is killing us, my members keeps complaining about how bad our editor is and I feel my hands are tied because mybb is such a great forum platform, upgrading to another system is not an option.

Use this tutorial for the latest TinyMCE

I hope this will improve your forum experience or maybe even try CKEditor.
