Dear MyBB Community,

Nice to meet you, I'm pretty new to this world and I'm trying to improve my skills day by day.
I've searched on the forum the answer to my question before this thread but I found nothing, so sorry if I bother you guys.
The reason why I decided to ask for your help is making me crazy. It's 3 days I'm trying to understand why the landing page of my under construction forum appears with no formatting, no theme, no images. Nothing but text, and even the text is all aligned to the left without any sense.

At the beginning I though It was a theme issue after upgrading to the 1.8.13, so I've tried to change theme according to those themes tested on 1.8.13 but no success. So I switched back to an older version of MyBB, but still the same display issue.

I've no idea what to do.

The Admin Board section is ok, no issues on that, but if I click on the top right link "Go to Forum" this is what I get (picture attached).

The same if I try to type the address to the bar manually.

Also, no one link works.

No idea what to do, someone already kn ow this problem?

Here some useful detail:

Link to the forum landing page: www.thesurveyblog.com/forum/portal.php

MyBB Version: 1.8.13 (from 1.8.6)

Sorry if I posted in a wrong section, but after I've read the rules of the forum I couldn't find any better section than this.

Thanks to anyone can help
Have you tried the default MyBB theme ?

If it works fine with that then it's a problem with the theme you are using.
there is a mistake in the setting of your forum's board url. please see this guidance

board url should be http://www.thesurveyblog.com/forum

Thank you .m.
I've read the guide and the formatting problem seems to be fixed, but after that a problem with the linked page occurred.

I mean, this (http://thesurveyblog.com/forum/index.php) should be the first page you see by clicking on the Admin CP top right link "Go to forum".
But what I see now is http://thesurveyblog.com/forum (because this what we wrote in the bburl) and if I try to add /index.php or /portal.php to the address both in the Board URL in the Admin Panel  (Home - Board Settings - Site Details)  and in the settings.php the previous issue (formatting) is back again.

At the moment I can open the right page only by typing in the address bar.

From where can I set the correct link to and from the landing page?

Thank you
^ in general, http://thesurveyblog.com/forum link loads http://thesurveyblog.com/forum/index.php
i.e. though we omit in the url, index page for the folder automatically loads - so there should be no problem.

if you want to load portal.php as the landing page then you can add its directive in .htaccess file
DirectoryIndex portal.php index.php index.html

Unfortunately the /index.php page is not loaded, this is what I get going to http://thesurveyblog.com/forum (look attached)
delete index.html file you have at the forum folder. that should fix the issue.

It works, but it seems that it works only for the first access. After that, everytime I click on the link "Go to Forum" I have the same issue unless I delete the browser history.
So that's why I think it can be a cookie problem or something like that.

I'm following this helpful thread to run some tests (@Matt): https://community.mybb.com/thread-42123.html
I'll keep the post up to date about this issue so anyone else with same problem can have a look.

I already feel among friends here!
Thank you ver much for your support and (hopefully) I'll bother you guys as less as possible.
Following the mentioned guides everything is now working. Thank you so much guys!! Great community!
