Right now there's only a couple ways to order threads which are not very useful.
By last post, created date, alphabetically... no decent forum should use such an antiquated way of filtering.
Reddit uses a pretty simple algorithm which pushes therads up based on likes, but the likes push it less and less as time goes on.
4chan uses a time based approach as well that doesn't involve likes. After x amount of time any reply to the thread stops bumping it up.
I'd like a plugin that used such an approach, letting me set the time.
So basically: Threads are ordered as default, based on last reply, but after that X amount of time the thread doesn't go to the top anymore, it stays in place and keeps going down and down.
