I just installed MyBB 1.8 with a customized Emerald theme. 

I set up the reputation system, but when I click the heart, which Emerald uses for the Rate icon, it freezes. The voting box doesn't pop up.

Could someone please help me out?

which version of MyBB you are using ? looks like the theme was not updated recently ..

for MyBB 1.8.13 & MyBB 1.8.14
basically javascript related codes in the theme's templates & css style codes need updating

at present, you can follow this post & check if it helps in resolving above referred issue.

note: after saving changes in stylesheets ,
you may have to hard refresh your browser (eg. press CTRL + F5 on a topic page) to see the style changes.

I read the thread. If I don't want to cut and paste the changes in the 10 XML files, could I do the following:

1. Export just my CSS changes
2. Reinstall the theme under a different name from the old version
3. Replace the full content individual CSS modules with those from the export file <-- Not sure whether there's an easy way to do this other than through cut and paste, but since it's a whole file, I don't have to worry about using the diff.

Would that work?
