There's a lot missing in the example site Justin is working on, but I have no idea if he plans to keep collapsible categories. I'd hope so, eprsonally.

Yep, collapsible categories still need to be added. They should be easy enough to work in, just a matter of adding it in.
Can't wait to see what 1.9 has to offer.  We are Reptilia Hosting is thinking about creating MyBB Packages. Also thinking about if to stick clients MyBB install on a VPS or shared hosting. We already have blog services and community software running on VPS.

This is so we can give better quality experience with there packages.
the menu, will remain in html or you will have a system of your own in the admin panel to create menus?
there will be changes in the portal?

Whats the point trying MyBB to make like WordPress?
Its Just a menu and it can be edited to suit requirement with ease. An automation for menu is pointless, coz if this happens a drag-and-drop page builder in ACP is also required...
MyBB should display/hide menus by default for things like portal, search, etc. But MyBB doesn't have a "page" system so a menu "system" makes no sense in core.
At this point, the only change to the menu will be that it's in a separate template and may hide functions that are disabled (as this is easy now that we can use conditionals inside templates).

there are people who do not know minimal html and are afraid to have to touch planillas  ¿¿spreadsheets???
And this would make it easier for users.
for me if you download a theme you would not have to touch anything in the spreadsheets, unless you want a special edition and have knowledge.

Smile

PD: let's wait for a smilleys update (?) jaja.
Hi Everyone, we've been hopeful of a natively mobile-friendly update for quite a while (and we don't really like any of the 3rd party responsive themes...). Can anyone give me a rough idea of when 1.9 will actually be out? Within 6 months, or a year? Thank you very much for all the work you've done, we love the platform.
Should be easily within six months. The plan is for the first half of this year at the latest.
Thanks for the quick reply, Euan.

The only other thing we hope for (if you are taking suggestions for future releases) is a built-in "Latest Posts" section, with definable attributes - we use a somewhat clunky plugin at the moment, but Latest Posts ends up where everyone on our forum goes first. Thanks again!
