How to show only categories on home page using Templates or other method?

Do a hard refresh (CTRL+F5).

still not working. 
i did a cleared entire browser cache, and did hard-reset on the index page. 
still seeing subforums.

Well, i don't see any subforums at all.

perhaps the correct word is child forums? or just forums?

i don't want to see "General", "Pack", "Electronics" etc

Only want to see categories on home page.

Edit the forums and select parent forum as General like so
