it'd be nice to see some image optimization options in mybb 1.10 so that stuff like user avatars can be compressed to help make pages load faster.

kraken is a pretty popular image compressor: https://kraken.io/docs/getting-started

Sounds great and would be nice especially for mobile users and users with slow connection

+1 for this.

Great idea for uploaded avatars; no real use for remote-hosted avatars.
