Good day,

We moved our Forum from http to https on 2017/12/18.  Initially, the whole relocation of the Forum seemed to have gone down without a hitch, but we (myself and some forumites that complained about this) are having three persisting problems at the moment:

Background:

MyBB version:  1.8.14
Old URL:  http://sasams.co.za/forum
New URL:   https://sa-sams.co.za/forum

OS:  Windows 10 64-bit
Browser(s) Tested:  Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Internet Explorer

Board URL:  https://sa-sams.co.za/forum
Homepage URL:  https://sa-sams.co.za/
Cookie Domain:  .sa-sams.co.za
Cookie Path:  /forum/
Secure Cookie Flag:  No
* I tried with Secure Cookie Flag set to On and Off - same result.

HTTPS Verified by: Let's Encrypt

Description of Problems:

1. When logging into the Forum, you have to refresh the page before it shows that you are logged in, instead of Guest.  When logging out, you have to refresh the page again, as it shows that you are still logged in.

2. When creating a new post, the post title shows up under the Last Posts on the Forum where it was posted, but it doesn't reflect on the Forum itself until you refresh the page.

3. When performing inline and other moderation actions, or editing a post, the action is performed but doesn't show until you refresh the page.

I was thinking that it might have something to do with how the cookies are handled by the browser, the Encryption used, or the cache itself.  However, all avenues explored still leaves me with these irritating little  problems.

What the heck am I missing?  Any advice on how I could possibly resolve this would be much appreciated.

Kind regards
have you also tried decreasing gzip compression level / disabling it completely ?
And have you checked using no cache headers ?

both settings are at Server and Optimization Options page of Configuration section

Edit: Home Site [wordpress] cache settings also need checking.
its cache settings through rewrite rules & any cache / optimization related plugin ..
Sorry for the delay in my reply.  Thank you so much .m. !

Use GZip Page Compression? was already disabled, but Send No Cache Headers was set to No.

Changed the latter to Yes and BAM!  Everything working like it should now, plus it seems that my forum is way more responsive now, as in really snappy!

Thank you very, very much!  Big Grin
