nowdays social media like facebook, making forums (bulletin board) less desirable
but for some need like discussion, forum still have advantages

many good topic/comment in facebook easy to sink (because without pagination)
so, maybe mybb add new feature (or plugin) : thread without title, (thread with titile still there). & in user profile apear amount of 'status' (like MyStatus plugin but in different sub category forum)
I see no advantages to having threads without titles.

I have no idea what "split with forum concept" means.

And "different category-forum" I think you mean to have a thread in multiple forums. That's already possible on the moderation side so I assume it could be done with a plugin. I even think there is a forms plugin which might be used to commit such an action.

MyBB and forums in general don't do well trying to mimic social media features. While there are some similarities as social platforms there is also enough differences that you can't just interchange their functions.

A forums first role is discussions. A social media platforms first role is connecting people.
A thread without a title only makes sense if a snippit is shown on the list page. I don't see such a feature making its way into core MyBB.

Your English is such that I can't understand your other two suggestions. Could you post in your native language (indicating which language it is) plus a Google translate? Maybe others could understand better. For what it's worth, this is not a jab at you since MyBB is used across the world. It truly is just an attempt at better understanding.

I would have to 100% disagree. Facebook groups are nice and all for local situations (yard sale groups, town meetings, birthday party notifications, etc.), but are horrible at forums and any decent discussion. Like said above, facebook is only good at connecting people.

  • facebook is their own server. I want 100% control over everything. You are very restricted in facebook group VS a forum where you have full control. Both for the admins and the users.
  • Facebook has stupid rules that you have to abide to. You are not only in the shadow of group admins, but also facebook oversees everything above the admins. For example if i want to sell rifles on my forum, i can. I cannot on facebook due to their recent rule.
  • facebook does not have code tags which makes it horrible at posting code. Some groups are completely empty due to this because you cannot read Python code on facebook due to python requiring proper indentation for blocks of code. And its not friendly with code that uses brackets either. There is also no syntax highlighter for code.
  • Anyone can be an admin on a facebook group. Admins get on power trips in facebook where they do not in regular forums like this ive noticed. You will often see {group name} with an addition of NO RULES after it be created because groups split all the time. Because everyone has a facebook account, anytime someone gets banned from a group they create a second group. It ends up splitting the community and making it way too complex. Whereas creating a server and setting up a forum takes work and devotion, facebook groups do not.
  • You are limited to the number of posts you can make on facebook. This cap is roughly 75 posts or to 75 different groups. At least it was the last time i was blocked. Then they block you from posting on groups for whatever time frame they want regardless of how much you tell them you are not a bot. And these were legit posts for each group. Its just they dont want you making that many posts in a certain time frame.
  • facebook has no method of modifying text. You cannot enlarge text, bold, italic, colorize, font type, underline, and all the other BBcode text options in facebook. This is imperative in discussion to emphasize some words over others as that can totally change the meaning of a sentence by emphasizing one word (in English at least) or not. This happens all the time on facebook....misunderstanding.
  • you cannot quote posts in facebook. At first you wouldnt think its required, but it really is at organizing discussions.
  • no bullets like i used here.
  • groups on forums tend to be more informative and knowledgeable as they are on the forum to answer questions pertaining to the subject. However in facebook, they just get a notification popup on their phone and answer it quickly while on the bus, etc. They dont seem to devote as much time.
  • For some reason facebook group admins toggle back and forth between private group and public group at whenever they feel like it. Ive witnessed this a lot. However whenever they are private, no one can link a post in their group outside of that group, and all links that exist outside of the group are then cut-off. Most forums are all public and stay public. Links stay connected.
  • Google'd content usually comes from forums....not facebook groups. This could be either because forums have been around longer, or groups are private not showing, or whatever. But as long as forums keep returning the search queries, forums will remain on top for discussions.
I think i can see where your going with the thread without the title thing. But that makes it like facebook. And forums are not facebook for a reason. I would have to disagree with this as well.
