Full Version: New users welcomed as Me (Admin)

I have just installed the latest release of 1.8 and configured my entire forum (headrushfans.com).

I have asked a few folks to visit the site and register for an account before I unleash it to my larger community. What I am hearing is that they seeing "Welcome Back, H1pst3r88" when they first access the site! I am H1pst3r88, the only admin.

[attachment=39984]

When they select "Admin CP" they are prompted for a login and they do not have access even if they try to login with their own credentials... thank goodness.

But this is really disconcerting. Why is my last login being cached at the site level and people who have never visited or registered at the site being welcomed as the site Admin??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I remember an issue like this a few times and it turned out to be some caching from the hosts (I think?) so I would talk to them. Please do correct me if I'm wrong anyone.

Looks like that could be the issue, upon clicking the username I am redirected to the profile of UID 1 and not shown as being logged in.
It would be great if you could let me know if that is the issue so I can try to remember for the future Toungue
I also faced something like that with cloudflare rocket loader but it was long ago, so i don't know about it now but one thing is clear that it is a caching issue.
Just to close this loop, I did find and fix the issue. In the hopes of helping someone down the road, here's the fix:

My host (Bluehost) uses Varnish as a cache on their grid servers to improve performance. Within my account I was able to clear the cache and then turn it off. It really hasn't affected performance at all, but the weird caching issue with MyBB is now resolved.
