Just wanted to know whether it will be okay to host MyBB forum on a shared hosting account? I'm planning to start a new forum from scratch so I think it will not be feasible for me to buy a vps for a completely new forum. And my host have softaculous where I can install MyBB with ease. Is it okay to install MyBB with softaculous? Any security problems here?

MyBB is pretty standard with it's requirements so it should work just fine on most hosting providers. There shouldn't be any issues installing MyBB via Softaculous as well

MyBB on shared hosting works really great, I never faced any issues with it.

I will save the vps cost for few months and then I will move my forum to a vps when it starts getting good number of visitors.
