on my side the plugin is not displayed. (Social Sites (0.3.3)
not in the user CP - not in the profile.

I've read some things about it, but I can not get it.
(excuse my bad English)

I use the NetPen theme

I have now found the mistake myself.
for all who also use the Netpen theme

go to:
Templates> User Control Panel Templates> usercp_nav_misc

there I added that:

<li><a href="usercp.php?action=forumsubscriptions"><i class="fa fa-th-list"></i>{$lang->ucp_nav_forum_subscriptions}</a>{socialsites_nav_option}</li>

I'm a beginner and I do not know if that's 100% okay.
but now it works very well.
