I'll be honest, its been a few years since i upgraded the forum software... I'm currently running mybb 1.6.9 I know now theres 1.8.x im curious when upgrading is it gonna whack out my theme? Is there an easy way to reinstall plugins without breaking anything? Worried about upgrading but ive ran into some serious spam issues that weve never had and I figure it might be best to upgrade.

I’m pretty sure your themes gonna break. A lot’s happened since 1.6.9. As for plugins, most will work by upgrading the compatibility line in the file to 18*
