How do I properly set up different images for post ranks/titles?

Instead of using the default stars, I'd like to use a different set of stars I found, but I can't figure out how to properly link them.

I've used:
images/stars/star1.gif
images/stars/star2.gif
and so on, but to no avail......

How can I set it so i can use separate stars/pip images for user titles when they reach X amount of posts?

You can set userstars for user titles & groups.

For groups, ACP --> Users & Groups --> Select Usergroup --> Paste location in Star Image field

For user titles --> ACP --> Users & Groups --> User Titles --> Select title --> Paste location in Star Image field

I know that, Wires, but i'm concerned about the path of said image. Do I have to put the full URL? I was using
images/stars/star1.gif
images/stars/star2.gif

respectively for user titles and it didn't seem to work?

Edit: I believe I got it for regular users...

However, how can I have it so that staff such as administrators, Moderators, VIP's, also get these pips even if they don't have the user title post rank but meet the post requirement? Does that make sense?
