Full Version: Preventing Spambots with Valid Email Check?

I've been encountering a recurring issue with spambots registering on my forum with invalid email addresses (see below). There seems to be only one mod that deals with this, and that was way back in MyBB 1.2.x. Does anyone have any suggestions for checking the validity of email addresses as users try to register? I'm not opposed to editing core files; however, I'd like to avoid that if at all possible, in favor of mods.

Example of a spambot with an invalid email address:

Cheers!

Well, I have a custom made plugin that does this job very well.

You'll need to discuss this with my Admin who created this plugin.
