Full Version: How to backup MyBB?

Hello, i have 2 questions.

1. a lot of people use softaculous to automatically backup and i know MyBB don't recommend it.

so if you don't recommend automatic backup system then we should use Backup wizard which make .tar file for your entire web hosting material.

or it better if we use FTP or file manager and goto Public_html then copy all material on it?

2. i know i've already answered this question couple of months ago but still didn't understand.

Last time when i change my host (with the help of .m.) so i cannot find my MyBB software on Softaculous then i ask you guys said it not recommended from you guys. OK then how do i update my MyBB? i have to download latest and upload to the same directory then overwrite it?
1. You can create a cron job and use a custom script (like http://www.backup2mail.com/) to automatically backup and mail your database as attachment in certain days interval.
Thats painless and I used to do it when I had a site made with MyBB.
