currently if you click on get support you get link to
https://community.mybb.com/forum-72.html
I really think the get support link is inked to the plugin / theme release thread instead
for example
https://community.mybb.com/mods.php?action=view&pid=885
if i click on get support it should link to
https://community.mybb.com/thread-206710.html

this way it'll keep all the discussion about a certain plugin in one thread
We've considered a couple of options for this:

  1. Have authors add a thread ID when creating a new project on the mods site
  2. Automatically create a release thread for every project submitted to the mods site, and prevent users manually creating threads in the section

We've not decided on the best approach though, so any feedback on how project authors would prefer it worked would be great.

don't really know how everything works under the hood but 2 sounds better since its automatic
or better yet would be plugin author create a thread in plugin release forum and it'll automatically create a project entry on the extend page and the get support link links back the plugin release thread

I like this as an option -- because then there'll be a thread created on release of a project, which can also serve as a "Hey, this is here" within community search, as well as extend.
Ok,

If we go for option 2, we need to consider how we handle existing projects that already have manually created release threads. We'll have to discuss it and see what the best option is.
