it is strange, 

in last days I logged in to mybb community via my home pc or phone
today I am trying and even yesterday I wanted to log in and got this error

You have failed to login within the required number of attempts. You must now wait -92h -22m -3s before you can login again.

yesterday it showed 60 hrs today it shows 92hours

this is something new something i never see b4

why this error ?

Hi, this issue was reported even before 1.8.16 was out and has been fixed in https://github.com/mybb/mybb/commit/c2ab...b817cb7cd6. I will perform further testing, but it was never reported since. In the meantime, please wipe your MyBB-related cookies to solve.

I can confirm the issue. Note that if you do not use the modal but load the full login page, cookies will be correctly wiped.

yes i did login that way and it worked now

site login works fine on chrom incognito window but not  in normal window. 

now that way u suggested login worked
