How do I put in my Google AdSense Code into MyBB?

Their are many plugins for that, you just have to find the one the suits you.

But incase you dont wish to use a plugin you will insert the adsense code directly into your template which could either be your header, footer or index templates. The choice is yours.

You can move the function around the templates for better positioning.

Isn't Google AdSense capable of inserting ads without any use of plugins? It certainly looks like that when clicking Apply to Site in AdSense ??

you need to modify codes. if you do not wish to use any plugin

You still have to insert given code into forum templates somehow. 
Either manually or using a plugin. Plugin is a better option since you can define the usergroups. 
For example more ads for guests and less for registered users

Just applying adsense wouldn't change a thind
