For some reason, recently all the users are getting subscribed to the threads that they have posted and are getting alerts. Is there a way to stop this?
Alerts are getting piled up guys.

It's a known bug on GitHub. No fix yet. Other than disabling quick reply editor.
It is added to MyBB 1.8.19 Milestone, so most likely it will be comming within month. Milestone is set to end at 12.09.2018, so it is soon. Then it's just matter of mergin all requests, testing, and giving us new release. It would be availabe most likely at the end of September, maybe beginning of October.
If it's a really big problem for you, try to add fixed files to your copy of MyBB 1.8.18 - it should work, but if your forum is big and can't afford any other issues, then you have to wait.
We're going to be speeding up the release of .19 to fix this issue along with a few others and then .20 will be the next maintenance release.
