This plugin which has been updated to 1.8 does not work with my board. (config-plugins goes blank)
Looking for a fix to this unless I'm experiencing issues alone.

Yaldaram's plugin works fine with the latest version of MyBB. The post you linked to looks like the user edited the said plugin. Try the original.
