Suggestion - It would be awesome if it can select Member automatically based on some criterion.

Yup. That's what I thought this was. This is pretty simple and static you could just manually do this in your template without the need for a plugin. I was hoping this would take your post count and reputation into account and display the user whose contributed the most.

Slightly off-topic but know any plugins like that?
