Hi, 

I have been receiving constant 429 too many request errors ever since using attachments instead of direct links for images.
These are my error logs. My server load shows as 23.21 and attachments used as 50.74MB.

Not, it's a bot looking for wordpress sites to hack.

So check the premissions of the file, and if are OK, I'll try to replace the file with a new fresh one from mybb (maybe it become corrupted when it was uploaded).

Thanks. I did upload all new files in case any were corrupted but I still had the same problem. The file permissions for attachment.php are at 640.

I see repeated errors like this one shown...

It makes me think that the Linux might be messed up. Maybe? 

Those API calls have been failing, but the question is... why? Is it Linux or is it the incorrect set up of the API call?

Ok, if the file permissions for attachment.php it's like the file permissions of the other files of the forum (forumdisplay.php for example), we could take a closer look of the IPs you provide, they're from know Spam Bots / Tor IPs, so they're bots asking for multiple resources at the same time, and overloading your server.

If your server is ngix:

I have set all my images as direct links now instead of uploaded attachments. I will see if it makes any difference.
