1.8.19 is working fine, although there are a few issues that are still there. We live with it.

Is the new version worth the effort?

I know a lot of work went into it and we all appreciate it.

But I see a few errors brought up by the installation of the upgrade.

Are these just system glitches? Or, are they from a semi-botched install?

Having a site down is just not an option at the moment. If I bring it down, it has to be back over night.

The majorly introduced bugs of 1.8.20 are basically attributed to SC Editor as we have step updated jQuery along with SC Editor in that version.

The final works with jQuery / SC Editor is over and merged for version 1.8.21 which resolves majority of those issue (few ancient issues still remain). So, if you are still with 1.8.19 I'd personally suggest you (not looking into security aspects, considering only efforts to put) to wait a while and directly upgrade to 1.8.21 as its likely to be released soon.
