I was using 1.8.14 then i upgraded to 1.8.20. Now i can't upload .jpg file as an avatar (Attachments doesn't work too but i disabled it). Error:

[attachment=41782]

My /public_html/uploads/ and /public_html/uploads/avatars folders are chmod 777.

I thought this due to i directly upgraded to 1.8.20 i need to upgraded to 15 then 16... So i changed some files and templates (taken from 1.8.20) list of these:

functions_image.php
functions_upload.php
functions_user.php

usercp.php

usercp.js

usercp
usercp_avatar
usercp_nav_attachments

But still doesn't work.

EDIT: Changed the theme and now its working.

forum admin panel >> Configuration >> Attachment Types --> .jpg --> edit

scroll down for Avatar File
make sure that yes is selected for using jpg avatar files

I checked it is 'yes'

is your picture size and weight ok ? Did you try change these settings ? Did you try with another picture ?

Same picture i can upload png but can't upload jpg.

Maybe there some conflicts with some plugins? Have you installed any plugin?

What is the weight of your .jpg ?
