I'm a little confused if it's missing or I can't find it, but I see that you can sort in forumdisplay threads by the last post date, but you can't sort it by started thread date(?). Is it intentional or not?

Yes, but in this part 

You could use all those options, but not creation time.

Redundant Sort UI already bothers. Even the tcat sorting feature is not available everywhere in the design.

This should be pushed to GitHub

Seems to be working fine as of now so I am rejecting this.
