Ok, why are you configuring your profile through the Admin CP instead of usercp.php?

Well, to keep the password unchanged you need to leave the password fields blank.
Its your browser that is autofilling the password in one field.
Try disabling autofill of your browser and / or remove anything that appears in your password field before form submission if you are not really intend to change password.
