I would like to ask where I can download the google analytic code by not downloading the plugin, just copy paste and post in my template. I would like to also know where should I put the code is it in the header or the in the footer ?

You get the exact code you need to use from Google itself, then paste it into headerinclude template (ungrouped templates) after {$stylesheets}
