Do a bit of search in MyBB.com Extend page, you would have found this
PLUGIN.
I've used this plugin before and it does work with the latest MyBB 1.8.21 version.
this plugin is broken needs updating users cant register on my forums need fix
^ what is your forum url & which tabs plugin you have tried ?
can you post the error message user gets when registration is attempted ..
