I wrote this text and then i clicked a preview button: 
Size normal. Size normal.
[size=small]Size small. Size small.[/size]
[attachment=42070]
I saw that normal text is smaller than text with[ size=small ]attribute.
[attachment=42071]

you need report bug using latest version of mybb.
