Registration Method Bug

When Setting the Registration Method to Send Email Verification.


The New User can Registrer but always display: account awaiting activation. Please go to your ACP to activate the user. Go to the ACP.

It seems that it was configured with Email Verification & Administrator Activation


or I may be confused with the setting of Registration Method, maybe always display for admin the account awaiting activation. Please go to your ACP to activate the user. Go to the ACP. 

Send Email Verification should be meaning that a user who is awaiting activation can be activated through either:

• an email verification by the user itself. Or
  
• manually by an administrator.

Here you can manage users who are awaiting activation. Please note any user who is awaiting email activation will not need to confirm their email if they are activated here.

Administrator Activation is just what it says.

Email Verification & Administrator Activation does mean the user's activation requires an administrator's operation. Whether or not the user's email is verified, an administrator's activation can bring this user to the registered user group. But if only the email is verified, the user is still awaiting activation that require administrators job.

IMHO, this setting should mean (and probably be refactored as) really two options:

• Email verification - which verifies the user's email address is valid.
  
• Manually activation - user is activated manually by administrators.
  

Current setting is just a mix of the two options.
