Hi,

I'm running MyBB 1.8.20. On other forums software I used in the past, users not having the right to reply in a thread do not see the "Reply" form and button. In my installation, the button is visible and, if clicked, tell users that they "You do not have permission to access this page. . This could be because of one of the following reasons: (...)".

Is this the normal behaviour of MyBB? I would prefer if users would just not see the "Reply" button if they can't use it.

It is a long pending known issue and yes, ofcourse annoying.
Earlier in MyBB, in case of closed threads only, atleast the reply button used to indicate the state.

I have added this to my long other similar issue list and will address soon.
